Most of the time I write articles about oversized screen printing or at least jumbo screen printing, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Dye Sublimation as part of the “oversized” category of garment decoration.

I great way for us to explain how dye sublimation kind of works is to say it’s kind of like when you tie-dye a t-shirt. It is a much different process than tie-dying but it gives you an example of what the end product will feel like. Unlike screen printing or direct to garment printing, dye sublimation shirts are created so you can not feel the ink on the shirt. The ink is infused into the shirt making the shirt look like it came like that.
With dye sublimation shirts you can have a family photo sublimated into your shirt and it will look just like the image. The only thing with dye sublimation shirts the shirt must be 100% polyester and all White. Now I know some people when they think of polyester they think of a silky feel, well in today’s day and age we can now get 100% polyester shirts that feel like cotton. And another thing people may not want an all-white shirt for the back ground of their image, well you don’t have to have it that way. With dye sublimation shirts you can change the back ground of the shirt to whatever color you would like it to be!
