Full Shirt Printing
One of the more popular looks for screen printed T-Shirts is the look of Full Shirt Printing. Full Shirt Printing is when the design is screen printed or sublimated across seams and all over the shirt. Typically, this look is achieved in a cut and sew environment. The reason behind cutting and sewing for all over full shirt printing is to avoid the problems associated with screen printing near or over seams. When contracted for a full shirt printing order, most customers want a wrap around look which connects the artwork on the front to the artwork on the back. Issues that people face when starting a seam to seam t shirt printing project, include timing and cost. As a result, new techniques for all over shirt printing have been developed that enable screen printing companies to produce near perfect all over prints on existing t-shirts.
Full Shirt Printing
To produce a high quality All Over T Shirt Printing results on an existing t-shirt, large format screen printers use very large flat tables or plattens and oversized screens. When printing this large, color and design registration is tricky. As a result, when designing your artwork for Full Shirt Printing, your art team should not design the shirt with more than 2 colors for the all over shirt element. You can accomplish a full color print by mixing a 2 color all over background or “noise art” with a standard sized screen print with as many colors as your screen printer is capable of printing. This type of mixed media effect gives the desired look, with crisp registration and eye popping design elements.
