Very Large Screen Printing
Screen printing is a very common garment decoration method that you can see in use in all kinds of settings, but do you know how it works? Did you know that there is a difference between regular screen printing and very large screen printing? Obviously, one is larger than the other, but did you know that it requires more than just enlarging the artwork? Not every printing company is capable of very large screen printing because they must have the proper equipment and expertise to pull off oversized prints.
Very Large Screen Printing
To understand why very large screen printing is a more specialized form of printing, let’s discuss how screen printing works. To create those beautiful prints, a silk screen must have an image etched into an emulsion that coats the surface of the screen. A special exposure machine used in conjunction with a film that contains the artwork will ‘burn’ the artwork into the emulsion which can later be washed away, exposing holes in the screen only where the artwork should be. Then the screens are mounted onto a press and colored inks are pulled across the screen which will apply the ink to the surface of the fabric. The reason why very large screen printing requires extra preparation is because oversized screens won’t fit into the standard printing equipment!
At AMBRO Manufacturing, we know that there are a lot of projects that fall outside the ‘standard’ dimensions of screen print and as such, we’ve made sure to be equipped to handle them. We’ve got the equipment at the right size to do all kinds of massive printing. We can take care of spirit jerseys, leg prints, all over tee shirt prints, and even blankets!
